MAHALA WIDENER DAVIS

Mahala Widener Davis, aged 67, wife of Charles J. Davis, died at her home, 314 East Jefferson Street, Sunday night at 11:30 o'clock, following a stroke of apoplexy which she suffered Sunday morning. Deceased was the daughter of John W. and Susan Green Widener, pioneer citizens of Montgomery County. The greater part of her life had been spent in this vicinity and she was widely known and respected. She was a member of Trinity Methodist Church. Surviving are the husband, two sons, James W. of California and Joe D, at home; a daughter, Mrs. E. Clay Warren of Muncie; two grandchildren and three sisters, Mrs. Amelia Utterback; Miss Sarah E. Widener and Mrs. H.A. Simms of Chicago. Funeral arrangements will be announced later. -- kbz
